Meritum - The Polish Language School was founded in 1992 and is one of the oldest private schools teaching Polish to foreigners. The need for professional courses of Polish as a foreign language emerged as a result of a considerable influx of employees of international companies, opening their branch offices in Poland. The sudden necessity to learn the language of the country in which they were destined to spend the next two or three years revolutionised the approach to teaching Polish as a foreign language. Meritum faced the difficult challenge of preparing business staff from around the world for their stay in Poland and making them feel comfortable with the language in all situations, and we succeeded. Our school managed to fulfil even the strictest requirements and expectations of our customers. This is proved by the continuously growing list of references from the companies we had the pleasure to work with. Meritum is a safe bet - we are professional and ready to deal with even the most difficult tasks.

Our linguistic knowledge has often been verified by all kinds of new challenges, frequently exceeding the domain of language teaching. We have researched the language of negotiating, business communication, and leading and participating in job interviews, to mention but a few. Our school has developed its own curricula, based on the most recent methodological experiences. We provide our own teaching aids for each student of each level. They have been designed by Meritum's own methodologists and are constantly being modified and optimised.

Our goal is the constant development of our services and methods. We strive to be a school open to everyone who wishes to learn the Polish language at any level, from the basics to a variety of specialised fields. Our students learn on a regular basis or just when they need to. We provide both individual tuition and courses in groups.

Currently we employ 25 teachers, thoroughly trained for work at any proficiency level. They all have the necessary professional skills and knowledge. They know how to create a nice working atmosphere and have an enthusiastic approach to teaching. All our staff are graduates of the Polish philology and know at least one foreign language. Each of our teachers has also passed methodological training in teaching Polish as a foreign language.
